Today is “Imagine a Day Without Water” .
For many of us, it is difficult to imagine a life without having water to drink, shower, flush the toilet or do laundry, but this is the reality for millions of people around the world, including people in America.
At Falcon, we believe that every child and family should have access to clean running water and that in the journey to create a better future, businesses should become a force for good.
Back in March, on World Water Day, Falcon Waterfree Technologies partnered with DigDeep to help build a sustainable and hygienic infrastructure for Baby Lisa and her family.
Baby Lisa is a vivacious little girl born in Phoenix, Arizona, who has been diagnosed with microvillus inclusion disease, a life-threatening condition that prevents the absorption of nutrients from food during digestion, resulting in malnutrition and dehydration.
She is one of hundreds of thousands of children living in water poverty in America. Her family’s lack of access to running water prevents them to meet the sanitation requirements to have Baby Lisa live with them. As a result, Baby Lisa is forced to live in a medical facility three hours away from her home.
This is the reason why Falcon Waterfree Technologies donated all the plumbing fixtures – a gift worth over $4,000 to the family of Baby Lisa, and Simon Davis, our CEO, also matched all employee contributions to the Baby Lisa campaign.
As a company dedicated to develop water efficient performance restroom products, we purchased only the most water-friendly models on the market, which will save hundreds of dollars in water bills to Baby Lisa’s family.
Today, we are pleased to share that DigDeep helped LaTanya and Troy Teller and their four kids install electrical service to their home, and construction on the water line and bathroom has begun! Leaving the family several steps closer to bringing Baby Lisa home.
