SPOTLIGHT: VALENCIA COUNTRY CLUB ROAD TO SUSTAINABILITY

Welcome back! It is time for our Spotlight series.  This space is reserved for highlighting all the great things our partners and customers are accomplishing worldwide.  These companies, institutions and venues are as much a part of Falcon’s journey to conserve, as our employees.  Let’s get right to it, shall we?

If you are ever in need of a relaxing day off work to play golf with the guys, there is no better place than the Valencia Country Club! Especially now that they are full force down the road to sustainability.

The club was built in 1965 by legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and has been recognized as one of the best golf courses in all of Southern California. Valencia Country Club will surely keep you interested and wowed with its challenging layout, beautiful conditions and complex greens.  Although the Santa Clarita area has experienced many changes in the past few years, Valencia Country Club remains a traditional fixture in the local community.

We all know that golf courses are a massive water user, however Valencia Country Club is leading the way in water conservation. Using recycled water for irrigation, limiting watering hours, and retrofitting restroom fixtures are a few of the sustainable initiatives being implemented as part of their water conservation strategy. At VCC they have converted all the restrooms on the course to water conserving devices to create a “Greener Restroom”. In these facilities you will find waterless urinals, high efficiency toilets and solar powered faucets.

This is only phase one of their green initiative – there is still more to come! Phase two of this project will be a retrofit of the clubhouse restrooms. Thanks VCC for leading the way in water conservation within the Golf Course community! We are happy to be a part of this exciting initiative and be able to provide a greener and cleaner restroom.
